Pre-writing skills are the basic skills children need to develop before they are able to write. These skills contribute to the child’s ability to hold and move a pencil fluently and effectively and therefore produce legible writing and the ability to draw, copy write and colour. In Nursery children learn to trace on different patterns like lines, curves, waves, zig zag and circle.
Cooking with children promotes the lifetime skill starting at a young age. Children learn lifetime skills through practicing basic math skills such as counting, weighing, measuring. Children made yummy Tang drink and enjoyed drinking it.
Children learnt Pre Math & Math concepts through PPT, Jamboard, flash cards, counting things, slate and clay work, writing and reading books. Children also presented their understanding during the virtual class.
Field trips are a way of enhancing classroom learning by making real world connections. This year children had virtual field trip to a Joint family. The family members introduced themselves and interacted with children.
TFA celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi wherein children made Ganesha from clay. They made creative idols from it. Teachers showed them Ganesha story virtually and explained them the significance of Story behind Ganesha’s elephant head.
Children and teachers celebrated Independence Day by dressing themselves in Tri- Colour and performed dance and sang songs. Moreover PPT on Significance of Independence Day was shown. Children were made aware about the independence and National Symbols.
Virtually Janmashtami was celebrated by showing the video on the story on “The Birth of Lord Krishna”. Children were made aware about the significance of Janmashtami festival and sang songs in the online assembly. Art and craft activity for Janmashtami and Independence Day was integrated.
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond, TFA teachers explained the significance of celebrating Rakshabandhan by presenting a story dramatization. Children enjoyed watching their teachers performing on the story. During Assembly children participated and sisters tied rakhi to their brothers. Children also made rakhi using craft papers.
Fine and Gross motor are the physical aspects important for child’s development. To enhance those, TFA teachers take online activities related to fine and gross motor skills like paper tearing; free cutting, beading with straw pieces, hopping on one foot, walking on a narrow path.
